What is Denodo ?
Denodo is a data-driven data virtualization solution that shortens the delivery time for use cases by leveraging existing IT systems.
Denodo Data Virtualization provides access to the entire data estate from a single point. It also reduces data storage and maintenance costs, as it is no longer necessary to replicate or transform data into different formats.
Denodo accelerates time to market for use cases for the following types of customers:
- Customers who have a very large legacy that they do not wish to migrate or that would be very expensive to migrate, but who wish to leverage their data assets while masking the complexity of the IT system.
- Customers who have hybrid (cloud and on-premise) and/or multi-cloud systems
- Customers who are primarily key accounts and/or international
The JEMS + Denodo offer
- Denodo addresses the “Data View” layer of the JEMS model. That is, the “manage” part of the data asset.
- Denodo is a virtual database designed to accelerate the delivery of use cases without affecting the “Data Table” component (agnostic and reusable business objects), as the solution uses existing data as its data source.
- Denodo is a data-driven solution, not a data-centric one. The Denodo solution recommends relying on underlying systems (parallelized or not) to execute queries (such as Hadoop). Denodo can therefore be used in our data organization model on the Data-View layer.
- Denodo can also serve as an intermediate step in data asset creation: by having a model that respects our asset model. This makes it easier for target customers to take the next step and move more quickly toward data centricity.
