JEMS & Planet Tech’Care: Acting for sustainable digital technology

In an ultra-connected world, it is essential to adopt eco-responsible digital practices to minimise our environmental impact. This is why we are proud to announce our participation in the Planet Tech’Care initiative. This Eco-Responsible Digital approach is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, aiming to create a more sustainable and ethical future.

Planet Tech’Care and Eco-Responsible Digital: an innovative initiative for the environment

Officially launched on 8 October, Planet Tech’Care is a collaborative platform bringing together companies from various sectors, training providers, local authorities, and public entities, all committed to environmentally responsible digital practices. JEMS: A strong and concrete CSR commitment

At JEMS, we have integrated CSR from 2014 with our participation in the Global Compact then in 2018 with the EcoVadis initiative. This is why our commitment translates into concrete and measurable actions structured around three main areas: the responsible climate and digital transition, resources and circularity, and the development and diversity of teams.

Climate transition and responsible digital

We carried out our 2022 carbon footprint assessment, which serves as a benchmark for our future actions. Furthermore, we have committed in an SBTI trajectory very restrictive which aims to reduce our GHG emissions by 50%% by 2033, in line with the Paris Agreement objectives. Among our initiatives, we offer training on eco-design and raise our employees' awareness of responsible digital practices.

Resources and circularity

We promote the purchase of refurbished electronics over 75, and we are committed to extending the lifespan of our equipment to over four years. We also revalue over 50% of our electronic waste by donating it to charities or recycling it.

Team empowerment and diversity

We value diversity and inclusion within our teams. To this end, we have signed a disability agreement and organise initiatives such as «Women in Tech» to promote diversity in the tech sector. Furthermore, we have been awarded the «Great Place To Work» label for two consecutive years, demonstrating our commitment to our employees' well-being.

Planet Tech’Care and Eco-Responsible Digital Workshops and Training

As part of our commitment to Planet Tech'Care, our employees have access to a series of workshops and training sessions aimed at promoting best practices in responsible digital usage.

Atelier 38 – Presentation of the RGESN

On June 24th, a workshop on the General Reference Framework for the Eco-design of Digital Services (RGESN) will be led by Arcep. This framework offers guidelines for designing digital services that are more environmentally friendly. To round things off, the workshop will be followed by a Q&A session with Arcep experts.

Retex Signatories Workshop

On 25 June, we will be taking part in a feedback workshop where several signatories will share their successes and challenges regarding responsible digital policy. This event will therefore be an opportunity to exchange ideas and be inspired by best practices.

Workshop 39 – Guide to Responsible AI

On 2 July, the Responsible Digital Institute (INR) will present its guide to responsible Artificial Intelligence. This guide, the result of collaboration among volunteers over more than a year, offers recommendations for developing AI that is respectful of ethics and the environment.

In conclusion

For the coming years, JEMS has set ambitious goals to strengthen its CSR commitment. This commitment to Planet Tech’Care and our CSR strategy are essential steps towards a more sustainable and ethical future. By joining this initiative, we affirm our desire to reduce our environmental footprint and promote responsible digital practices. Our concrete actions and ambitious objectives demonstrate our determination to be a key player in the ecological transition of the digital sector.

We invite all businesses and digital stakeholders to discover this approach and join us on this path. Together, we can align the ecological and digital transitions to create a positive impact on our planet. Let's build a future where digital innovation and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
