Home » Our commitment to a sustainable development approach
At JEMS, the desire to be a committed and responsible player is reflected in our commitments to sustainable development. To this end, we have notably implemented a corporate social responsibility strategy that is directly integrated into our company policy. This corporate strategy allows us to remain true to our values of excellence, ambition, commitment, and responsibility, while steering our customer offering towards more sustainable solutions. We also act on various areas of commitment.
To be as close as possible to our commitments, we have modified our purchasing habits for more responsible purchasing. We now exclusively use 100% recycled fibre paper, and we choose suppliers who apply a CSR policy.
For several years, recycling has been an integral part of employees' daily lives, with dedicated recycling bins in the company's work and catering areas.
Each month, a specialised company collects and recycles used ink cartridges, pens, lids, batteries, and lamps; as well as paper, plastic bottles, and coffee pods.
First and foremost, mapping work needs to be carried out. Where is this data located? Who has it? How was it collected and who uses it? Our conviction, at JEMS Group, is that all companies possess a data asset. This asset is their most valuable possession. From there, it will be possible to build new business models or new product lines.
We have implemented a very structured method for building these models. All data is good. Nothing should be discarded, whether it is complete, incomplete, old, linked to production systems, etc. Everything must be kept because the rival company does not have this data. It will be useful later even if we don't know how for now.
The printers are automatically set to duplex printing; a programmed air conditioning thermostat is installed; we use a renewable energy supplier and have a code of good practice, as well as a green data centre.
We prioritise the purchase of natural products for hygiene and cleaning in bathrooms and communal areas.
We have built communities and repositories, thereby allowing for refactoring. Long before adopting an eco-responsible approach, teams were dedicated to the same ambitions: establishing high-performing code and adopting a UI/UX approach that addresses current challenges. We have strengthened development issues by adding a pragmatic, environmentally friendly approach.
We are favouring video conferences over inter-CDS travel. We are implementing distance learning, and promoting the development of soft mobility (50% public transport or bicycle subscription).
For several years, we have been a signatory of the Global Compact, thereby respecting the following principles: human rights, international labour standards, environmental protection and the fight against corruption. We also fight as actively as possible against discrimination that may exist in the labour market and strive daily to abolish all forms of discrimination within the company. Moreover, diversity is one of our fundamental values, and the daily presence of 37 different nationalities is a strength for us.
A particularly strong emphasis is placed on employee well-being at work. We have, in particular, decided to launch the Great Place To Work project by conducting a completely anonymous employee satisfaction survey. This survey has highlighted the company's strengths and weaknesses and has led to working groups being formed to address the various areas for improvement.
When it comes to values, combating corruption is also a key focus at JEMS. To guarantee and continue long-term, healthy relationships with our clients and suppliers, we have been ISO 27001 certified since January 2018. This certification lasts for three years and requires us to adhere to strict rules regarding information system security. Training is provided to employees, and follow-up quizzes are regularly sent out to reinforce the implemented security standards. In November 2021, we launched «24 Hours of Security»: a day dedicated to corporate security, with various activities carried out to raise awareness among all employees. Furthermore, we regularly participate in and organise GDPR conferences, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to data protection.
At JEMS, we share our commitment with our employees, clients, and suppliers, and make new contributions each year to improve our environmental impact.
