The JEMS communities

Containment has been good for JEMS because we have launched the concept of technology communities. Today, 15 technology communities support JEMS consultants in their certifications and allow for the exchange of best practices.

What is a community?

According to Wenger et al. 2002, a community is a group of people who share a common interest, set of problems or passion and who deepen their knowledge and expertise through continuous interaction. Its objectives are :

  • to provide mutual support and knowledge exchange in order to learn from each other
  • to make work possible while ensuring replication of practice

Cohesion is ensured by relationships, commitment and identification with the practice, not by job and performance goals or constraints.

Who can join the JEMS communities?

But everyone of course! The community is usually composed of one or two animators; these are people who are specialists in the field and like to share their knowledge. Then the members who can be also experts of the subject or in support of the community, that is to say who does not have the same trade nor the same field of expertise but shares the objectives. The 15 communities are :

  • Agile
  • Big Data
  • BIM Modeling
  • Business Process Model
  • Cloud Computing : AWS, GCP et Azure
  • DataBricks
  • Data Science
  • Digital (Frontend et backend)
