Create a single repository to unify data from 21 subsidiaries in the automotive sector

PHE (Parts Holding Europe), a group specialising in the distribution of spare parts for light commercial vehicles and heavy goods vehicles, wished to implement a common data management solution across all of its 21 subsidiaries, including Autodistribution. The challenge was to break down information silos, streamline data flow, and build a foundation capable of meeting both integration needs and the demands of analytical and Data Science usage.

The project

Our approach

JEMS has implemented a unified data platform using a data-centric approach, integrated into the group's overall architecture. The objective was to create a central, historical, and usable data hub for all systems, in order to meet the challenges of inter-application integration as well as the needs for reporting, analytics, and Data Science.

The diagnosis

PHE had to contend with information systems spread across several subsidiaries, which hampered the circulation of information and limited the group's ability to exploit its data globally. To meet business needs, it was not enough to add an extra technical layer. It was necessary to create a universal architecture capable of breaking down data silos, integrating it better between applications, and supporting a variety of uses, from real-time integration to advanced analytics.

The key deliverables

  • Framing of business challenges and governance strategy
  • Development of data management infrastructure
  • Installation of tools and implementation of security management on platforms with SnapLogic's managed service
  • Implementation of the first use case around the Bodywork catalogue.
  • Setting up reporting and data visualisation
  • Deployment of the solution across all subsidiaries

The benefits

Smoother information flow

The platform facilitates data exchanges between applications from the group's different information systems.

A common repository for all subsidiaries

The central data hub unifies data across the group and breaks down data silos for its uses.

Improved visibility of the Bodywork offering

The first use case gives all subsidiaries an exhaustive overview of parts availability and pricing.

A useful foundation for analytics and Data Science

The architecture implemented has been designed to support both operational needs and advanced usage.

A more universal and scalable architecture

The project is preparing the group to industrialise new use cases on a common, historised and secure basis.
