Create a new data service for thousands of chartered accountants
CEGID, a publisher of solutions for accountants, tax, payroll, and human resources, has launched a Data Centric programme to create a new range of services from its clients' data. The challenge was to consolidate and unify several million databases in order to produce, in record time, new management uses for accountancy firms.

From databases to unify
The project was based on the acquisition, harmonisation and enrichment of a massive volume of data from accounting firms using CEGID software.
The project
Our approach
JEMS has supported CEGID in the implementation of its Data Centric programme by structuring a complete data processing chain. The intervention consisted of acquiring, unifying, anonymising and enriching the data, then exposing it through new steering services. The solution is based on Microsoft Azure, Talend Databricks, Snowflake and Toucan Toco.
The diagnosis
To launch a new range of data services, CEGID needed to be able to leverage an extremely vast and fragmented heritage, made up of its chartered accountant clients' databases. The challenge was not purely technical: it was necessary to build a foundation capable of unifying this data on a large scale, anonymising it, enriching it, and making it rapidly exploitable to create concrete management services. In this context, Data Centric logic became the condition for transforming dispersed data into a valuable asset.

How can CEGID create a new data service from several million customer databases?
The benefits
A large-scale unified dataset
The programme allows for the consolidation of several million databases into a uniform and usable framework.
New services for practices
Standardised, anonymised and enriched data are used to offer new management uses for chartered accountants.
An industrialised data chain
The architecture put in place allows data to be processed within a structured and scalable cloud framework.
A quick rollout for users
The project explicitly aims to create on-demand use cases in record time.
A coherent cloud infrastructure aligned with the CEGID strategy
The service is part of CEGID's broader strategy, which favors the cloud as a development and distribution platform.
The 6-step approach
1. To start from CEGID's Data Centric strategy
The project is part of the development of a new range of services based on customer data enhancement.
2. Acquire large-scale data
JEMS has integrated data from all accounting firms in France using CEGID software.
3. Unify, anonymise and enrich databases
The data have been harmonised and then prepared to be usable within a secure, service-oriented framework.
4. Deploy the cloud foundation and processing
The platform was built on Microsoft Azure with Talend Databricks for processing and Snowflake for data exposure.
5. Design the steering uses
The prepared data was then used to feed new management services for client firms.
6. Present results in dashboards
The dashboards were developed with Toucan Toco to make the uses accessible to end-users.
